Andrew L. Vrabel

Andrew L. Vrabel passed away on Jan 10, 2019 at the age of 69 after an unexpected illness. Andrew was born on Staten Island and remained a native Staten Islander until his death. He grew-up in the Rosebank-Fort Wadsworth area, attending St Mary's grammar school Rosebank, upon graduation he attended McKee High school and upon graduating from there attended Calhoon MEBA Engineering School in Baltimore, Maryland where he obtained his Marine Engineering License, sailing for various shipping companies around the world. He obtained his Chief Engineer License and retired from Sea Land Shipping as a Chief Engineer after 20 years of service with them. 
Andrew enjoyed fishing in his spare time and retirement.  Andrew was preceded in death by his parents John A. Vrabel and Rose E. Vrabel. He is survived by a brother John B Vrabel and his wife Eleanore D'Antuono of New Milford, CT and two sisters Stephanie Edmonds and her husband David of Middletown, NJ and Mary Ann Reilly of Staten Island. He is also survived by  his only niece Kim Reilly-Fitzpatrick and her husband Brain, and 3 loving grand nieces, Cassandra, Kayleigh and Madison Fitzpatrick all of STAten Island.
