Catherine Cantasano passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 25, 2019. Formerly of Staten Island, Catherine moved to South River, New Jersey with her daughter after the passing of her beloved husband John Cantasano in 2009. A homemaker, Catherine was known to all as an exceptional seamstress, and a loving, caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the Matriarch of a close knit family and will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her devoted children and their husbands; Antoinette Mazzariello (Tony) and Theresa Tobin (Phil); dear grand-mother of Kurt Kracsun, Philip Jr., Kim and Jay Tobin; loving great-grandmother of T.J. Kracsun, Amanda Rider, Philip Tobin III and Kay Carambia; and great-great grandmother to Lucas, Lydia, Cameron and Audrey Rider. Also surviving are what her family calls her fur babies, whom she loved and cared for with all her heart; Coco, Gizmo, Nugget and Beau.
There will be a visitation to celebrate her life on Friday, June 28 at the Brunswick Memorial Funeral Home, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, New Jersey 08816. On Saturday there will be a mass of christian burial at the Corpus Christi Church, where Catherine was a devoted parishoner, located at 100 James Street, South River, New Jersey 08882. Committal will take place at the Cemetery of the Resurrection,391 Sharrott Avenue, Staten Island, New York 10309.
