Dino Pena, Jr. Obituary

Dino Sala Peña, age 41, passed away on Saturday, June 1st, 2019 surrounded by his friends and family. He was born in Cebu City, Philippines and moved to the U.S. at a very young age. He attended St. Joseph’s Parochial School in Rosebank where he received several academic awards for Math and Science. He was accepted and graduated from Staten Island Technical High School, where he excelled academically and played varsity basketball. He then received his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting at The College of Staten Island. He worked as a staff accountant for many years at prestigious law firms such as Skadden and investment firm giant, Morgan Stanley. He enjoyed playing basketball, going to BBQs, and spending time with his friends and family. He was above all else a very selfless person, he loved to go out of his way to help people out and never expected anything in return. Many considered him a loyal and close friend, and his capacity to love was overwhelming.

He is survived by his father, Dan; his sisters Tina and Lisa; and his brother John. His mother, Hazel passed away in 2016.

A wake service will be held at the Martin Hughes Funeral Home, 530 Narrows Road South, Staten Island, NY on Thursday, June 6th from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00pm. The funeral mass will be at St. Joseph's Church on Friday June 7th at 10:00am.
