Mary B. Cavano, 102, of Ward Hill, passed Tuesday at the Sea View Care Center.
She was born to the late Giuseppe and Bridget Cavano. She in the West Village moving to Staten Island as a young girl at age 6.When it came time for high school Mary returned to Manhattan to a trade school specializing in the garment industry.
After graduating Mary worked in New York’s garment industry working for many of the industries premiere designers such as Oscar de la Renta and Bill Blass among others. She was an avid Mets fan and enjoyed her travels to Aruba and Atlantic City.
Mary lived with her two nieces Lucille Litrell and Maryann DeSantis and is survived by many other loving nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Martin Hughes Funeral Home in Concord. Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at Our Lady of Good Counsel RC Church with the burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
