Virginia Regalbuto (nee Montemarano), 93, a longtime resident of Grasmere, and retired New York City civil servant died on Thursday, October 25, 2018 in Staten Island, NY.
Virginia was born in March of 1925 in Gowanus, Brooklyn, NY. She was the child of Fortunata (Fannie) and Eddie Palumbo, and the sister of Charles Montemarano. In the early 1940s, Virginia met the love of her life, Rudy Regalbuto, on the beach in Coney Island, Brooklyn. They married on July 24, 1946 at Our Lady of Peace, Catholic Church in Gowanus, Brooklyn, NY. In 1989, they moved to Cape Coral, Florida. In 1992, they returned to New York City, settling in Grasmere, Staten Island. They were married for fifty two years.
Virginia, or fondly known as Tootsie by her family, is survived by her five children; William (Marilyn), Barbara (Dennis), Rudy (Priscilla), Fortune (John), and Theresa (Robert). She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and twenty two great-grandchildren.
