Ada Folla Obituary

Ada "Terry" Folla

1935 – 2024

Ada "Terry" Folla, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on November 15, 2024, in Staten Island, New York. Known for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family, Ada leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.

Born in 1935, in East Harlem, Ada was the daughter of hardworking parents who instilled in her the values of perseverance, compassion, and dedication. A proud graduate of Mabel Dean Bacon Vocational High School, she carried the lessons of her youth into a life marked by tireless devotion to her family and community.

In 1955, Ada moved to Rosebank, Staten Island, where she and her husband, Hermando, built a life filled with love and laughter. As a homemaker, Ada created a warm and inviting home, where the aromas of her delicious homemade meals, baked goods, and her love for gardening brought joy to her family, friends, and neighbors alike. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, her garden a sanctuary of beauty, and her heart a wellspring of kindness.

Ada was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Hermando, and her siblings Joseph, Daniel, Vito, John, and Irene, with whom she shared a close and loving bond. She is survived by her four loving children: Christopher, Steven (Lois), Cathleen Williams (Stephen), and Scott. Her cherished grandchildren, Kerriann and Anthony, brought her endless joy and pride, and she leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss her dearly.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ada’s remarkable life during a wake to be held on Tuesday, November 19, at Martin Hughes Funeral Home from 2–4 PM and 7–9 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Ada’s memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization close to her heart.

Ada's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and community. Her gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and generous heart touched the lives of so many. While she may no longer walk among us, her legacy will live on in the stories we share, the lessons she taught us, and the love she so freely gave.

Rest in peace, Ada. Your life was a blessing, and your memory will be a treasure forever.
