Alexander Matrisciani
October 14, 1939 to October 23, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alexander Matrisciani, age 85,
on October 23, 2024. Al was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.
He is now reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife and soulmate of 62 years, Susan Gail Matrisciani.
Al was raised in Brooklyn, New York to Alexander and Adeline Matrisciani. The oldest of five brothers, he was predeceased by Robert and
Danny and is survived by Monty and Michael. Al is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Al was a partner in the family business, Prospect Beverages, along with his father and brothers.
A true patriot, he served in the National Guard and received an Honorable Discharge.
At 15-years-old, he met the love of his life, Susan, "the girl down the block". Their love,
devotion and commitment to each other during their marriage was beautiful and a joy to experience.
Al was a loving father to Lori Carr (Patrick) and Sheri Alimonda. He adored his grandchildren:
Alexander Cerrano, Ashley Stevens-Cerrano, Ashley Cerrano, Sigfredo and Ariana Amaya, and Julia Small.
He was thrilled when he became a great-grandfather to Emiliano Amaya. Since he was a teenager, Al had a love for
fishing, boating and hunting. He was fortunate enough to be able to travel often with his wife and
took his children on several unforgettable cruises. He loved oldies music and would blast his music
louder than a teenager. As he and his wife grew older, they relocated south to Florida and lived a life that was nothing
short of magical. With his sweetheart by his side, Al was on his boat every day, weather permitting. He
had countless friends who appreciated his generous nature and sense of humor.
A wanna-be carpenter, Al was extremely talented in wood working and loved to invent handy things to
use around the house. He loved to putter around his man-cave with his tools. He was a very social person
and spent many days entertaining friends on and off the boat. His favorite restaurant was his own
kitchen with his pizza oven and anything his wife cooked (as long as it was pasta.)
As we say our goodbyes to Al, we do so with grief and sorrow, knowing that the world has lost a
truly remarkable person. May he find eternal light and peace, his memory forever cherished in the
hearts of those whose lives he touched. Rest in peace, dear Al, you will never be
forgotten. You will always be in our hearts and thoughts.
