Alfred L. DeGroat

Alfred L DeGroat, 76, died unexpectedly 15 March 2023 at his Staten Island residence. He is a lifelong resident of Staten Island born 12 December 1946, the son of Alfred L ."Rapps" DeGroat and Ruth Vivian (Dennison) DeGroat.

Al has been an avid baseball fan since he was a child with the NY Mets being his absolute favorite. He loved to fish and he really loved to dance... and boy can he dance!

Surviving is his companion of over 20 years, Patricia Cianci, 7 children including his daughter Julie DeGroat-Trager, multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. Al has always said when he goes he wants to be cremated with no services. So we honored his request. 

He will be missed by many.
