It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Angela Carmella Antonelli, age 90,
peacefully at her home on September 9, 2024. Angela was a beloved mother, wife, grandmother,
and friend.
Angela was born on May 7th, 1934, in New York. She grew up with 13 siblings and developed a
lifelong passion for nursing, a journey that many of us shared with her. Her dedication to
nursing was an inspiration to all who knew her.
She married Louis Carmine Antonelli on August 21, 1960, and together, they built a life filled
with love, laughter, and memories. She was the proud mother of three children, Louis, Marlene,
and Isabel, and grandmother of Louis, Jennifer, Mariah, Mason, and Ivan. Her role as a mother
and grandmother brought warmth and love to all who knew her.
Angela lived for her grandchildren and family. She was dedicated to her faith, praying her
rosary multiple times a day. Angela was deeply involved in the South Beach Civics Association
as a board member and the Fraternal Order of Police, where she found great joy in serving
others. She will be remembered for her strength, compassion, and her desire to always care for
others.
She leaves behind a legacy of 42 years of nursing, working as an embalmer, running her
brother’s construction company and foster care provider, and participating as an EMT in the first
Purple Heart ambulance team.
She is survived by her loving children Jennifer, Marlene and Isabel, and her 5 grandchildren,
Louis, Jennifer, Mason, Mariah and Ivan. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis Carmine,
and her son, Louis Anthony.
In lieu of flowers, donations for her granddaughter's education fund would be greatly appreciated. Angela took great pride in that her granddaughter wants to follow in her footsteps, and work in the medical field. It was Ang's wish to be able to help her reach her dream.
