Barbara A. Ferrara
Barbara A. Ferrara, a lifelong Staten Island resident, passed away peacefully at her Grasmere home on the morning of July 4, 2026.
Barbara proudly called Grasmere home for nearly fifty years. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and loyal friend whose kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Together with her beloved husband, Michael, who predeceased her in 2024, Barbara assisted her husband Michael in operating Richmond Truck & Auto Repair, where they built not only a successful business but also lasting friendships throughout the community.
Barbara found great joy in nature and had a lifelong love for animals. She generously gave her time volunteering in local schools, where she inspired and encouraged countless young people through her compassion and dedication. Whether spending time with family, caring for those around her, or simply enjoying the beauty of the outdoors, Barbara lived a life defined by kindness, grace, and selflessness.
More than anything, Barbara cherished her family. She created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and treasured memories. Her greatest pride was her daughter, Lisa, and the close bond they shared.
Barbara is survived by her loving daughter, Lisa, her brother Edward Kapitan, and his wife, Noreen; along with their children and grandchildren, who will forever cherish her memory.
Barbara will be remembered for her unwavering love of family, her generous heart, and the quiet strength and compassion she brought to every life she touched. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
