We come together with family and friends to celebrate the life of our beloved Bobby Wayne Gonzalez—a cherished brother, father, uncle, and grandfather.
Bobby was a free spirit, an adventurous soul with a kind and generous heart. He had a deep love for exploration, often traveling from his home in Tampa, Florida, to visit family in New York. His journeys took him across many states before he eventually settled in California, only to later return to Staten Island, where he could be close to those he loved most.
A devout Catholic, Bobby lived his faith each day, striving to bring others closer to God. He was a familiar and welcoming presence at St. Joseph-St. Mary Immaculate Church, where he found great joy in attending Sunday Mass with Father Freddy. Dedicated to his community, he selflessly gave his time and resources, always seeking ways to serve and uplift those around him. He prayed the rosary daily, offering his well-wishes and blessings to everyone he knew.
Beyond his faith and devotion to family, Bobby had a creative and inquisitive mind. He found joy in painting, working with computers, and collecting coins—a reflection of his appreciation for history and detail.
Bobby is survived by his loving sisters, Lillian Withers, Mary Amirati, Celia Amirati, and Frances Twomey; his devoted daughter, Grisel Mirra; and his cherished granddaughters, Giana and Riana. He also leaves behind his dear nieces and nephews—Karen, Jennie, Valentina, Michael, Hugh Jr., John, Katie, and James—who will forever hold him in their hearts.
Bobby, you were deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. May you rest in eternal peace.
