Camille Gervais

 Camille Gervais died peacefully on February 12, 2021, she was 77 years old.

She was born June 5, 1943 in Manhattans lower East side to Katherine and Joseph Marino and moved to Staten Island with her parents and 4 siblings in or around 1958 to Stapleton Heights on Jackson Street.

She married her childhood sweetheart in June 1962 at Most Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church in Manhattan where they then moved to Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. They returned to Staten Island in 1964 in the Clifton/Rosebank area where they raised  their family of 4 children throughout their 29 year marriage until the passing of her husband Serge Gervais, a  former NYPD, in 1991.

Camille in her younger years enjoyed hosting Friday night card playing nights with family and friends and later on found herself to become a frequent rider of Atlantic City bus trips along with Bingo nights at St. Joseph’s Church Rosebank and Holy Rosary Church in Arrochar. Hosting family and friends for holidays and Sunday Sauce was always her favorite.

She leaves behind her daughter, Danielle Piper and husband Edward of Katy, Tx,  and 3 sons, Christopher Gervais and wife Christine (née Stone), Darin Gervais, Serge Gervais and wife Danielle (née) Terra.

She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren, Erin MacKenzie and husband Kevin, Dillon and Alexander Piper, Claudia and Courtney Gervais, Genevieve Gervais, Serge, Giavanna and Angelia Gervais, also 2 Great Grandchildren, Bennett and Reagan MacKenzie, As well as her siblings, brother Joseph A. Marino of Watchung, NJ and sister Kathleen Ventre and husband Harry of Oakwood, the late Annette Marino and Theresa Marino, as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews .

Services to be held at Martin Hughes Funeral Home on February 21 from 5-9pm

A prayer wervice will be held Monday 2/22/2021 at 10 am

Internment following on 2/22/21 at Resurrection Cemetery

In following the guidlines requested by the CDC and the NYS Department of Health all visitors are required to wear face masks covering nose and mouth while in the building. We request that all be mindful of social distancing  protocols while visiting. To be respectful of the immediate family, we respectfully as that visits be kept brief to allow others the same opportunity while adhereing to the regulations. Thank you
