In loving memory of Ching Wong.
Ching passed away peacefully on February 24, 2024.
From a young age, Ching demonstrated academic excellence. She achieved her medical degree at the Central University of Venezuela at the age of 21, becoming one of the first Chinese doctors to graduate in Venezuela. She then immigrated to the United States in the 1970s, and completed her internal medicine residency at Lutheran Medical Center, followed by a hematology/oncology fellowship at Brookdale University Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. She continued to serve as an attending hematologist/oncologist at Lutheran Medical Center, and developed a private practice in Brooklyn, where she dedicated the next 40 years of her career to caring for patients in the community.
Ching was a devoted wife, and dedicated mother and sister. She is survived by her husband, her two children, and her brother and sister. She will be remembered for her loyalty, compassion, and commitment to others. She touched the lives of many, and will be missed dearly.
