Dativa Diaz Labrado, 86, originally from Staten Island, New York, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, in Cape Coral, Florida, where she spent her final months enjoying the sunshine and being surrounded by the love of her family.
Dativa was the heart of her family, kind, generous, and independent. She put her family first in everything she did and showed her love in quiet, steady ways that made everyone feel cared for.
Her greatest pride and joy were her four children, Arnel, Arlene, Rose, and Melissa, their spouses Deya, Jay, Clarwin, and Oscar, and nine grandchildren, Emily and husband DeQuan, Justin, Cole, Kylie, Ryan, Ava, Eley, Noah, and Chloe. They gave her purpose, laughter, and light. Caring for them, watching over them, and celebrating who they were becoming was what filled her heart the most. She showed her love not just through words, but through presence—by always being there. She is also survived by her sisters Linda and Nene in the Philippines.
Dativa showed her love through her food. She always made sure everyone was fed, and her home and table were open to all, welcoming friends, family, and strangers alike, because in her heart, everyone was family.
She began her career as a pharmacist in the Philippines and later worked as a pharmacy technician after immigrating to the United States, continuing her commitment to helping others.
She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the deep love she had for her family and friends. She will be missed more than words can say and remembered always with love.
