Diane Hamdani 

November 4, 1950 - April 18, 2021

          Beloved Mother ,Grandmother , Sister, Aunt , Cousin and Friend

Diane was raised in Bayridge , Brooklyn .  Daughter of John”Martin “Nerheim  and Margaret Nelson . Diane worked for Verizon as a watch engineer , a field predominately of men . There she thrived making a life for her three children. She was a woman of courage , laughter and strength. To many she was affectionately known as “Mommy Rizzo”. Her door was always open to those she called family. For those who knew her,  she battled COPD for many years . She did so bravely always fighting to see her family even for just one more day. Diane enjoyed her retired life in Moosic, PA . Where she continued adding to her extended family. 

On April 18 she lost her fight to Covid pneumonia. She will be sorely missed. 

She is survived by her brother and two sisters , 3 children ,and 4 grandchildren . Her grandchildren James,Peter,Kayla and Biagio were her universe. If asked many will say , Diane fought hard to live each day. She managed somehow to make many laugh along the way . She was  a force , our guiding light . She showed through any struggle , there is always light.

In following the guidelines requested by the CDC and the NYS Department of Health all visitors are required to wear face masks covering nose and mouth while in the building. We request that all be mindful of social distancing protocols while visiting. To be respectful of the immediate family, we respectfully ask that visits be kept brief, approximately 20 minutes, to allow others the same opportunity while adhering to the regulations. Thank you.
