Dora (Anastasi) Arslanian

Dora Arslanian (July 29, 1931-June 15, 2026) With heartfelt sadness, we announce the passing of Dora Arslanian, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend. Dora’s life was a testament to kindness, compassion, and unwavering love—she touched the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her. Dora was generous with her time and spirit, always ready to help, to listen, or to lend thoughtful advice. Her warmth and empathy extended beyond her family, embracing friends and neighbors alike. Dora never hesitated to place others before herself, finding joy in supporting and uplifting those around her. Born and raised on Staten Island, Dora married her high school sweetheart, Donald (predeceased), and together they built a life filled with devotion to their daughters. Dora graduated from McKee High School in 1949. In 2019, Dora was recognized by the McKee Alumni and Friends Association for her continued activism, and overall support of the Alumni Association. Dora’s journey took her from working as a bookkeeper in New York City, to being a dedicated full-time mother, to courageously pursuing new skills as a licensed beautician. Her creativity and determination shone through in her years spent in home renovation, designing kitchens and bathrooms. Dora devoted nearly 20 years to selfless volunteer work at Silver Mount Cemetery, for which she was honored as one of the Staten Island Advance Women of Achievement in 2007—a reflection of the profound impact she made in her community. Dora is survived by her loving daughters, Kim and Karan; her cherished grandchildren, Natalie, Donald, and Alexander; and her siblings, Clara, Gloria, John, and Stella. Her legacy of love, kindness, and compassion endures in each of them. Dora will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her large circle of family and friends. She was truly a blessing to all who knew her, and her gentle, caring heart leaves a light that will never fade.
