Dylan Zinko Obituary

The world lost a bright light when Dylan Zinko, 31, passed away on the evening of Saturday, December 17, 2022.

Dylan is predeceased by his grandparents Virginia Cutrone, Alexander Cutrone, Joseph Zinko, Anna D’Ambrosio, Mickey D’Ambrosio, as well as his beloved godfather, Sal Capozucca, and his adoring uncle, Nelson Pagan.

He leaves behind his loving parents, Debra and Edward Zinko, his sister, Anna Zinko and brother-in-law Christopher DeLucia and many mourning loved ones, especially his “second family,” his cousins Valentine and Theodora Pagan and Aunt Donna. Dylan will be remembered forever by his fiance, Taylor Powell, and will live on through their unborn child, Dylan Jr., expected in April 2023.

Dylan was born on Staten Island, New York on September 13, 1991. He attended St. Joseph Hill Academy, St. Rita’s Parochial School, St. Joseph by the Sea High School and Wagner High School. He received his Associates Degree at the College of Staten Island. He loved sports from a young age and played baseball and basketball on teams throughout the island, resulting in many friendships along the way. Some of the highlights were the years he spent at Derek Jeter’s baseball camp and visiting the World Series with his Aunt Jeannie and Uncle Frankie.

He loved his friends and family, and especially to laugh and joke. He was known to prank relatives and his dry sense of humor was enough to bring tears of laughter to our eyes.

He had a heart of gold and a soft spot for cats. He loved being a cat-dad to his Munchkin and was responsible for saving 5 kittens, slated for a shelter, 4 of which his parents kept and raised.

He was a gifted painter, contractor and designer. He was very proud of the work he did through his business, Dapper Designs Inc. His employees, too, became an extended family to him.

Dylan loved being around his friends and was the life of any party, whether in the Jersey Shore or here on Staten Island. Most of all, he loved his fiance, Taylor, and was so happy when she accepted his proposal for marriage just days before his untimely passing. He was so excited to be a father, and we know in our hearts, he already is one.

His passing has left a hole in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be missed, loved and remembered forever.
