In 1973, he moved with his wife, three children and mother-in-law to Staten Island. He was a resident of Castelon Corners for nearly seven decades and known affectionately to neighbors, family and life-long friends as “Bunny.” He was a jack of all trades, master of none. His first job was as a grocery clerk, he served in the US Army as a line cook, welder on the USS Arizona, moved baby grand pianos with his brother, Bobby, retired as a foreman from the NYC Sanitation Department and then started his final career as a teller at the Bank of New York.
His hobbies included trips to the Huntington Playhouse with the Pioneers, luncheons at the Staaten, watching the Price is Right and Jeopardy, and he was a voracious reader of action and political thrillers and avid crossword player. He loved family gatherings including dinner at Denino’s and playing cards at the kitchen table.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
