Gladys Rivera
Gladys Rivera passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Puerto Rico and came to Brooklyn in the late 1950's, with her parents Sandalio Rodriguez and Maximina Rodriguez (nee Santiago). There she met her husband of 50 years, Jose Rivera who passed away in 2012. Gladys loved being a homemaker. She loved to cook for everyone and she would entertain every Sunday. She was famous for her loving spirfit, and her open door policy. If you were hungry she would always have food. Even during her illness she cooked for eight kids, she just never stopped! Glady's loved to dance, sing, play lotto even during her last days. Her spirit was infectious, and her stubborness was legendary, and passed down to some of her children, LOL! She may be gone, but she will never, ever be forgotten!
Surviving are her siblings, Carmen, Olga, Sonia, Milagro And Lydia; Her loving children Carmen Tardio Garin, Teresa Soto, Jose Rivera, Sonia Robles, Gladys Garzone, Nancy Rivera, Susie Rivera and David Rivera; her beloved grandchildren Melissa, John, Danny, Jackie, Jimmy, Joey, Gladys, Kevin, Joselito, Aida, Christopher, Krystle, Brenda, Monique, Anthony, Marc Nicholas, Angelina, Diana, David Jason and her 32 beautiful great-grandchildren.
