Henry C. Nadal,91, of Grasmere passed at home on January 18, 2022, surrounded
by family. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and uncle.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sarah; his sons Jerome and his husband
Gene, Robert, Gerard and his wife Regina, his daughters Carmen Shouldis and her
husband Jimmy, Regina Zoltowski and her husband Joe, and his grandchildren;

He was a longtime resident of Staten Island and worked as a metal lithographer
until his retirement. In his prior careers he worked for the US Navy and sailed for
eight years as a merchant marine where he worked to resettle the concentration
camp survivors of World War II and evacuated residents of South Korea during
the Korean War. He was a man of great faith and was actively involved for
decades in the Mt. Manresa Lamb of God Prayer group. Not without considerable
struggle he was a two-time cancer survivor, which spurred his desire to help those
with the same affliction, he became an award-winning volunteer at the Nalitt
Center at Staten Island University Hospital for over 25 years. Of all his many
accomplishments he would rank his marriage and his family as his most important
accomplishments. He took great pride and delight in each family members
successes, put great stock in education, and gave advice and encouragement to
anyone fortunate enough to strike up a conversation with him. He left an
impression on everyone that he met with his charm, grace and wit, he will be
missed beyond words.
