Joseph DeSantis Obituary

Joseph “Joe Dunn” DeSantis, 89, of Lauderhill Florida, passed Saturday at the Florida Medical Center. 

He was born to the late Joseph and Lucy Cavano. in Manhattan and after a brief time moved to Staten Island settling in Rosebank. Joseph joined the U.S. Marine Corps not long after high school.

Upon his discharge Joe came back to his family business the Bar Harbor Tavern in Tompkinsville. He worked with his family until the early 1970’s when he moved to south Florida. Once there he remined in the hospitality industry. Joe loved and played all sports but developed a true passion for golf in his later years.

  Joseph was pre-deceased by his wife Arlee. He is the loving father of Lynn Bernard and Joseph III. He is also the loving step-father of Karen Weiss (Don) and devoted step-grandfather to Charles & Nicole. Dear friend of Chip Bisbano. He is the cherished brother of Lucille Litrell and Maryann DeSantis, and the loving great- grandfather of four.

 

A viewing will be held on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Martin Hughes Funeral Home in Concord. Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at Our Lady of Good Counsel RC Church with the burial to follow at the Moravian Cemetery.
