Kim Latta

Kim Latta Passed away peacefully on January 5, 2022. She was born in 1959, in Jersey City, New Jersey, the fourth child of Ida Gwendolyn Porter Latta and Linston Latta, Sr. She was one of ten children. In 1962, the family moved to Staten Island, where Kim remained until her passing.

In her adult years Kim went on to work for the NYC Parks Department and The Stella Orton Home Care Center. Kim was a caring neighbor and became a member of the Stapleton Houses Tenant Association.

Kim was a loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother; along with being an adoring aunt of eight nephews, 13 nieces and a host of great-nephews and great-nieces. She was loved in her community for her kind and giving nature, and was a dear friend to many. She gave her love to all the children she met and cared for throughout the years.

Surviving Kim are her son, Sheldon Latta; her grandson Sheldon Smith; siblings Joseph Porter, Victoria Porter, Ella Latta Rawlerson, Margaret Latta Murray, Linston Latta, Jr., Winston Latta, Hope Latta, Alando Latta and Kim Bullock. Kim was predeceased by her sister, Marion Porter Smith and most recently by her husband, Bobby Mackabee.

Kim Lavette Latta, we will miss you for the rest of our lives and will always hold you dear in our hearts. Remembered and never forgotten. WE LOVE YOU KIM!!!!
