Maria was predeceased by her husband Frank Gonzalez in May of 1995. Maria grew up on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, where she loved to roller skate, and later lived in Bensonhurst Brooklyn. Her greatest joy was her children and grand-children whom she loved with all of her heart and always took wonderful care of. She was always there to babysit her grandchildren any time her children needed her. Her 7 grandchildren always enjoyed her warm presence, great sense of humor and delicious snacks. She took pride in working at Eagle Electric Company where she built light bulb sockets for lamps. In her younger years she was known for hosting family get togethers where family and close friends would gather together for great food, music and dancing. She never missed reading her morning paper, The Daily News. She loved to sit in front of her building at 2109 85th Street with her best friends Roz, Bessie and Jeannie. She took great pride in keeping her apartment immaculately clean. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Maria is survived by her sister Rose Sticco, age 86, her brother Salvatore Puma, age 76 and her beloved nieces, nephew, cousins and beloved family pets Haley, Abby, Misty, Jasmine, Katie and Luca.
