Muriel "Molly" Trabisco

August 15, 1932 ~ July 5, 2021 (age 88)

Muriel 'Molly' Trabisco

On Monday, July 5th, Muriel "Molly" Trabisco passed away in the comfort of her home with all of her family and loved ones surrounding her. She was 88 years of age. Born Muriel Judith Schultes to Helen and August Schultes, at home in Stapleton on August 15, 1932, Molly was one of six children. She attended P.S. 14 and Curtis High School. As a young girl Molly loved to dance, and it is through dance that she connected with her lifelong husband and dance partner John "Chuckie" Trabisco. Molly and Chuckie were married 58 years and were blessed with three children, Richard, Lori, and John. Molly first worked at Bankers Trust in New York City as a proofreader, but left work to raise her family. After raising her family, Molly began a 35 year long career as a secretary for Immaculate Conception School. There she met one of her best friends, Sister Timothy O'Keefe. Molly and Chuckie regularly enjoyed time with their Stapleton friends with whom they spent summers in LBI.

A devout Catholic, Molly raised her family in her first parish, Immaculate Conception in Stapleton. Later in life she became a parishioner of St. Mary's in Rosebank, and after its closing she attended mass at St. Joseph's. After the passing of her husband Chuckie, Molly found a passion for the New York Yankees, which she shared with her family and especially her twin grandsons. It is often a shared joke throughout the family that Molly had a passion for folding and ironing clothes. Molly's other interests included reading, traveling, the beach, cooking, and spending time with her family around her kitchen table. She also had a sweet tooth for candy. Molly was preceded in death by her husband John 'Chuckie' Trabisco who passed away in 2017. Molly is survived by her three children, Richard, Lori, and John, her daughter in law Deborah Trabisco, her nine grandchildren, Meegan, Jennifer, Amanda, Molly, Mary, Katie, John, Joseph, and Richard, and her six great grandchildren, Alexis, Olivia, Brady, Isla, Raymond, and Ella. She is also survived by her brother William Schultes, her brother in law Joseph Nicita, sister in law Janet Schultes, and sister in law Joan Carney. Along with her children and grandchildren, Molly is survived by her many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she cherished and loved spending time with. Molly also leaves behind her Stapleton best friends who were her confidantes throughout life.
