Peter Frank Perlongo Jr.

Peter Frank Perlongo Jr. was one of a kind. His family and friends knew they would have a great time when he was around, enjoying his company and comedic ways.Pete was born and raised, in Staten Island, NY by his parents, the late Gladys Perlongo (Petrozelli) and Peter Perlongo Sr. He and his sister grew up in their family home on Mills Avenue in South Beach, where all were welcome. From riding their sleighs down the huge hill, to playing in their big yard. 

Pete graduated from New Dorp High School, and immediately began his career in construction and general contracting. Many said he had “hands of gold”, from the smallest project to building homes. Throughout the years, Pete loved hosting parties and holidays (where he also won big in the family card games) with his family at their home in South Beach. His most recent pastime was being a member of a winning dart team, Quick & Painless, in the Island Wide Dart League, where he was known to all as Pistol Pete. In his younger years, he was an excellent softball player. Until a few years ago, Pete enjoyed annual softball games with his friends from the neighborhood, the “old timers”. Pete was an avid New York Giants and New York Yankees fan and enjoyed watching the games with his son. 

In 2008, Pete married his love, Jody Fox, whom he met during one of those fun dart nights. They lived many loving years with their pups until her passing in 2022. 

His latest and greatest treasure was his 2 1/2 year old grandson, Jaxon Perlongo. Jaxon was the apple of his eye and his “little man”. He couldn’t wait to teach him all the things a Papa is supposed to. 

Peter was survived by his two children, Tracy Perlongo and Peter Perlongo III, his pup Mandy, his sister Juliann King, his nieces and nephew, Wayne (Deanna) and Christina (Nicole) and his great niece and nephew, Alicia and Wayne. He also left behind his aunts, Jaqueline Liebig and Patricia Perlongo, as well as many beloved cousins and friends.
