Selena Mitchell was born to Esther Mitchell and the late Henry Anderson on August 18, 1967 in Harlem Hospital, New York, NY. Selena was raised in the Stapleton Section of Staten Island, NY. Immediately after High School, she married Alfred Johnson and in that union her one and only daughter Juanita (Juw) was born. Growing up Selena “AKA” Sue, was very lovable and respectful. She was always full of life. She loved her family and would do anything for them, especially her best friend, friend and ace, her brother Lemark, along with Millie and Carey. Selena and Lemark started out very early hanging out and getting into trouble together. When you seen one, trust to know, you seen the other. Selena loved her daughter, Juanita, but her granddaughter Za-Niyah, was the Love of her Life, the apple of her eye and her little Sous Chef. When Selena watched Za-Niyah, they were always cooking together and make up fun food to eat. She would always say, where’s my “Baby Girl”? Selena loved cooking, listening to Ole School R&B, having a Coors Light and watching her thriller movies. She is loved by many, disliked by few and respected by all. Selena leaves us to cherish her life with fond memories: only daughter Juanita Johnson; 1 granddaughter: Za-Niyah Struthers; her mother Esther Mitchell; 4 Sisters: Terrasina, Michelle, Chandra (JW) & Patricia; 3 Brothers: Tyrone (Michelle), Chad (Eileen) & Lee (Nicole); 2 Aunts: Sarah Smith & Marian Dunham (Frank); 21 nieces & nephews, 22 great nieces & nephews, 3 great-great nieces & nephew and a host of cousins and friends. She precedes in death her father; Henry Anderson, grandmother: Mother Lena B. Mitchell; her nephew: Jerome L. Mitchell, aunt: Lorena Hodges and cousin: Perry McEachern. Selena will be MISSED, but NEVER FORGOTTEN!!!
