It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Susan Gail Matrisciani, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Susan's journey began in the vibrant streets of Brooklyn, NY, where she was born to Sara (Shirley) and Irving Siegel. Her spirit illuminated the lives of those around her until she peacefully departed on March 7th.
Sixty-nine years ago, Susan encountered her soulmate, Alexander, and their union blossomed into a tapestry of love, laughter, and boundless adventure. Together, they wove a remarkable marriage that stood as a beacon of enduring devotion.
As a nurturing mother to Lori Carr (Patrick) and Sheri Alimonda, Susan's love knew no bounds. Her nurturing embrace extended to her six grandchildren: Alexander Cerrano, Ashley Stevens-Cerrano, Ashley Cerrano, Sigfredo and Ariana Amaya, and Julia Small. Her legacy continued to flourish with the birth of her adored great-grandson, Emiliano Amaya.
Susan's zest for life was contagious, ignited by her passions for card games, mahjong, fishing, and boating. However, her heart truly found its greatest joy in the company of her cherished family. Her culinary prowess was legendary, each dish crafted with love and served with a side of warmth in her welcoming home. Susan had a radiant presence that illuminated every room she entered, leaving behind an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
As we bid farewell to Susan, we do so with heavy hearts, knowing that the world has lost a truly remarkable soul. May she find eternal peace, her memory forever cherished in the hearts of those whose lives she touched. Rest in peace, dear Susan, your light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
