Vincent Palladino Obituary

Vincent A. Palladino, age 63, passed away peacefully at his home on Staten Island on Monday, July 15th, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Vincent was a native of the Bronx, NY, and was a graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School. He continued his education and graduated from the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service. Vincent was a funeral director for over 40 years; his most recent employment was with Menorah Chapels at Millburn, NJ, and prior to that, worked at Williams Funeral Home in the Bronx.

Vincent is survived by his loving wife, Rosalyn, of 35 years. The couple met when they were both students at the McAllister Institute. He was predeceased by his parents Connie and Michael Palladino and his sister Maryann Lichtenberg. He is also survived by his brother, Dr. Michael G. Palladino (Rosemarie) of North Carolina. Vincent was a wonderful uncle to his brother’s four children: Aimee (Rafael), Michael (Paige), Arielle (David), and Alexis (Nate). He is a great uncle to Sebastian, Cece, Grey, Nikko, and Matilda.

Additionally, Vincent was a close and loving uncle to Joanne DeStefano Figueroa (Samuel) and John DeStefano (Jasmine) and a great uncle to Sam, Elijah, Noah, Luke Figueroa, JT, and James DeStefano.

Vincent loved entertaining and hosting family Christmas dinners, St. Joseph’s/St. Patrick’s Day summer barbecues, and his renowned lobster nights. He was a perfectionist when it came to decorating for the holidays and every special occasion. Vincent was an excellent cook and enjoyed watching cooking and home improvement television shows. He looked forward to yearly vacations in Aruba with his family and friends, as well as every year visits to the Jersey Shore.

The family wishes to acknowledge the months of exceptional care and compassion provided by Dr. Frank Scafuri and his staff, as well as the care and treatment he received at MSKCC by Dr. Steven Maron and his team.

Family and friends will be received at the Martin Hughes Funeral Home, 530 Narrows Road South at Britton Ave., Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church. Committal will follow at Moravian Cemetery.
