Wolodymyr Pidluznyj Obituary

With heartfelt sympathy, we regret to announce the passing of Wolodymyr (Walter) Pidluznyj, Army Veteran, loving husband to Maria Anne Pidluznyj (nee Accardi); doting father to Marie Alexandra Accardi and Diana Schwartzman (nee Pidluznyj) and grandfather to Marilyn; father-in-law to Liron Schwartzman and Sergeant John Falzarano; brother to Ana Pidluznyj and Lydia E. Pidluznyj.

Walter attended the Ukranian School in Manhattan at a young age. He became an orphan and was placed in various foster homes until he was brought to the Mission of the Immaculate Virgin in Staten Island, NY. He became an alumnus of Mount Loretto , helping with the planning of many reunions.

In high school he exceled in sports, both basketball and football. He attended music class, where he learned to play the drums and he graduated with honors in social studies. He continued  his education at The College of Staten Island and Pace University.

In 1978, Walter enlisted in the US Army serving overseas in Germany. He received an honorable discharge and went on to become an Internet Technician.

Walter loved his dogs and nature. He enjoyed riding his bicycle in the great outdoors. His biggest love was for his family. He encouraged his children to pursue their education, and inspired his granddaughter to be a good ciitizen and to follow her passion in figure skating. He would often go to the rink to watch her skating shows.

Walter’s new journey has begun in heaven. He will forever be our guardian angel looking down upon us.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorial contributions in memory of Walter will be greatly appreciated to assist his family with his memorial tribute.
