The St. Pio Society of Holy Rosary Church thanks you for your devotion to St. Pio and your generosity toward our Society. Your support, friendship and assistance in our efforts to publicize St. Padre Pio and bring his message to the people of our Parish and Staten Island are much appreciated.

The spiritual holy cards that you made up this year, showing St. Pio giving a blessing, and with a most appropriate prayer, were distributed to participants at our 9th Annual Padre Pio Procession and Feast Day Mass held on Thursday September 23.

In addition, we were so pleasantly surprised to find two beautiful, seasonal floor baskets with the note, "In prayerful rememberance of Padre Pio, Martin Hughes Funeral Home" in front of the alter. You went above and beyond this year, and our Celebration of the Mass in Honor of Padre Pio was enhanced by your thoughfulness.

We are always thankful that you have joined with us in continuing the mission of Padre Pio by inspiring people to pray and work for the good of all those who are in need. Thank you for your constant participation and collaboration in this work. We pray that God blesses you and your loved ones, and especially your dear daughter Caroline, through the intercession of St. Pio.

The director Rocco and his assistant Mary Ann were extremely helpful and went out of their way to make the family comfortable during our recent loss. They went beyond with their presentation of our brother, Andrew L. Vrabel, even placing a silhouette of a container ship upon his casket commemorating his service as a merchant seaman. Also making sure that all our wishes were carried out. We would highly recommend the services of Martin Hughes Funeral Home for anyone who suffered a loss.

I can’t possibly put into words how thankful we are for Rocco, and the services he provided us during a most difficult time. Preparing for the funeral is a job no one wants to do. Once we sat down with him, it was all in his hands. He took care of everything, including suggesting florists, a restaurant to go between viewings, writing an obituary, and so much more....to make sure we didn’t leave anything out. He covered every detail and we didn’t have to see anyone else to get everything done. . Rocco was more than accommodating, and went out of his way to provide us what we needed with some special circumstances as well. Everything was beautiful! Everyone was so helpful. Martin Hughes is very family oriented. Even the drivers were great. Most of all, Marianne made my Mom look absolutely beautiful, just as she was her whole life. That for me was the most important. Rocco the owner is a complete gentleman with a heart of gold!
